About Michael
I was born and brought up in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the north-east of England. After studying Economics at Cambridge University, I completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, and then taught for one year in England followed by one year in Belgium. I then took up a teaching post at a college for prospective translators in Savonlinna in eastern Finland, where I still live.
In autumn 2014, I retired from my post as a Lecturer in English (translator education) at the University of Eastern Finland. However I still do language checking of texts written in English by non-native speakers; I can also arrange high-quality translation from Finnish into English and English into Finnish by a professional translator.
